Take Care of Yourself and Others

Forró is often danced in close embrace. That’s why we all share the responsibility of creating a comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Our Guidelines

  • Take care of your personal hygiene.
  • Use deodorant or breath mints whenever needed.
  • Support others if they need help.

Examples

  • Come prepared.

Fresh clothes, good personal hygiene and, if needed, bringing a spare T-shirt, deodorant or breath mints are simple ways to show respect.

Make sure that your clothing provides appropriate coverage and support for the movements.

  • Freshen up if needed.

Forró is danced in close embrace. If you’ve been dancing for a while, taking a short break to freshen up (for example changing your t-shirt) is a considerate gesture toward your dance partners.

  • Look out for one another.

If you notice someone who has been on their own for a while or seems uncomfortable, check in with them or, if available, let the Care Team or the teachers know.

  • The Care Team and/or the FdC-Care Committee are here for you.

At many FdC events, members of the Care Team are available on site.

If there isn’t a Care Team present, you can always contact the Care Committee by email—whether you’re directly affected or concerned about someone else.

All conversations are treated confidentially, and we will support the person affected according to their wishes and needs.
